I would like to extend my thanks to all of the Sport User Groups who were able to attend the meeting on April 24. The meeting with the consultant was key to ensure that your sport groups needs are understood and reflected in the City’s 10 year plan for parks, recreation, culture and trails.
If your sport group was unable to attend the meeting, you can still provide your groups needs through our community group survey: https://forms.office.com/r/syzqSzjjDZ
I cannot stress enough the importance of sharing your sport groups needs within the City. No need is too large or too small. Choosing not to provide information can result in your group’s needs not being reflected in the City Parks, Recreation, Culture and Trails Master Plan; this is a guiding document for large scale capital and infrastructure improvements within the City.
If you have any questions or would like some additional information on the Master Plan, please reach out. Thank you,
The City of Orillia is excited to announce the launch of the public engagement for the Parks, Recreation, Culture and Trails Master Plan. There are two ways for organizations to get involved and ensure their voice is heard throughout this process:
-
User Group Meeting
-
An in-person user group meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 24 at 5:30 pm in the Tournament Room at Rotary Place. This workshop will be held to brainstorm the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the City of Orillia Parks, Recreation, Culture, and Trails system. This workshop will begin with a project introduction presentation, followed by an interactive activity where the interested parties will have the opportunity to brainstorm with one another and provide feedback on current challenges and community needs. We value your feedback and hope you are able to attend! Due to space, only 2 representatives from each user group are permitted. Attendance should be limited to members of the executive.

Survey

The City of Orillia parks, Recreation, Culture, and Trails Master Plan surveys are now open for responses! We’d like to hear about your experiences with the City’s Parks, Recreation, Culture, and Trails assets and services. Interested Parties Survey: https://forms.office.com/r/syzqSzjjDZ. Please note, this survey is to be completed once for each user group.

An additional email will be shared that will have engagement opportunities for your members to share their voice on the City’s Parks, Recreation, Culture and Trails.
