There are over 50 different sports played locally, some through formal clubs and leagues, while others are more informal groups and individuals.
Sport Orillia formed in 2014 from a core group of people representing 18 different sports organizations and educational institutions, with a desire to grow the organization to include all sports and interested parties in Orillia.
With a long history of great sportsmanship from early Canadian rowing champions i.e., Jake Gaudaur Sr. who was the World Champion Sculler from 1896-1901 to current champions, we are striving to acknowledge excellence in sport with an Orillia Sport Hall of Fame.
Sport and active living can keep a community vibrant and can enhance the economic, social and personal health of communities and people. stronger together!
